How we live and work is going through much changes, driven by necessity of space and economics but also the need to communicate in person and collaborate.
Many spaces now are flexible in their use, from being
a cafe to conferencing to a collaborative workplace. Spaces require furniture that can be relaxed and informal yet perform well in heavy use environments.
Kayo — DAVIS
With Kayo we wanted to bring together the comfort of the home with the performance needed in public spaces.
The challenge when designing Kayo was to create a strong structure from the minimum of material. Material is placed to follow the flow of force in the structure during use. The body is generously supported and the final image is a combination of the two.
Kayo has been designed to make people feel relaxed and calm. The partially enclosed backrest offers a relaxed comfort and feeling of security. The visual of the chair has clarity and directness in its structure whilst still feeling cosy.
